Great Products.

I started using the honest co's diapers and wipes with my second child. The diapers were more "sturdy" and did not leak. I love them and there were no side effects on my little one. Pampers got too soggy when soiled and huggies leaked. I love how I don't have to leave the house to get diapers or wipes. Also, you have the option to extend your bundle. If you still have some, then log in your account and pick a later date. As for all the reviews about scams, it would be smart to read the fine print of the free trial. Set a calendar reminder on your phone to cancel (many of us have smart phones!) or just cancel when you receive the package. What's the big deal for picking up the phone? Just call and cancel. My parents bought us a bundle as a gift and I called for them to cancel and it took less than 5 mins. Yes, they ask to keep the subscription... it's their job.

Not Honest at all!

They give you "FREE" samples. When you order sample looks like a small bottle of product (vitamins). In fact you get ONE pill, and then they start charging your credit card in next 7 days to ship you now bundles (that small bottle that was supposed to be free). Bear in mind that you will not know what you got yourself into until it's too late. They sign you up for monthly membership even you don't even know it. So they want to charge your credit card MONTHLY and send you those bundles. After I read the terms and it does say it all there. But who really reads the terms and conditions? Cancel right away! This whole company is a scam.

You know, I agree with you that sending one pill as a sample is kinda poopy.

But as far as the rest, no. I signed up too and that was maybe a year and a half, two years ago and I had NO trouble understanding from what was clearly there both BEFORE I went to checkout and WHILE checking out that if I got the samples I would be automatically enrolled in a subscription service.

If you can't see anything in front of your face except the word 'free' that's your shortcoming, not theirs.

I even got email reminding me I'd signed up and when to call to cancel by afterwards.

Were they supposed to send a singing telegram?

Come on. That's not dishonest, you're just lazy.

Guest

They are not dishonest. When you check out, the clearly tell you it is a subscription! If you want to try their products, go to your local Target, that way you can lash out at another company for your lack of judgment or ability to read.

Guest

well, it's kind of scary to see that you will be charged (35.95 + 79.95 + 35.95) no one has time in the world to read all terms and conditions of 100 pages.....

scam scam scam..........

Great News! Your Bundle Will Ship Soon.

In a few days, we'll be sending out your monthly Bundle.

Your card will be charged $35.95 for the Essentials Bundle.

Your card will be charged $79.95 for the Diapers & Wipes Bundle. Your card will be charged $35.95 for the Health & Wellness Bundle.

Guest

"After I read the terms and it does say it all there. But who really reads the terms and conditions?"

Clearly people who do not end up in the situation you did.

You are the one who didn't read the terms and conditions. Therefor, it is your fault. Learn to read before you buy and you will not end up stressed and out of $$$. Who reads terms and conditions?

Smart people.

That's who. People who do not want to get suckered into things unknowingly.

Customer service never answers the phone! Got tricked into the monthly plan

I can't even describe how pissed off I am at this company. I signed up for a free trial of baby diapers and automatically got signed up for the monthly diaper plan. I have now called four different times on four different days and can't get ANYONE from customer service to answer the phone. This company is not HONEST at all! If you're going to trick people into buying your product, atlas have someone from customer service available to cancel the subscription. Oh, and I even tried emailing them and they never responded. Now I definitely would NEVER buy Honest products EVER!!!!!

I knew about the automatic enrollment when I signed up for the sample. However, I also just assumed they would answer the phone for me to cancel. I have tried to reach them several times (holding for up to 30 minutes each time) but no one ever answers.

Guest

Most places I've had subscriptions with at least let you cancel your subscription on their website. I just tried to cancel mine due to being irritated with their lack of customer service.

An order I placed ONE day after requesting my samples has JUST now been sent(they were prompt to send the samples and I received them days ago), after a shipping label was created the day after I placed my order. I ended up sending them an email yesterday asking if there was a delay, and received no explanation, but saw the order was finally shipped. I see now that you can ONLY call in.

This is not a very customer friendly business. I will be using other "green" brands that treat their customers better.

Guest

No SAMPLE should automatically obligate the consumer to a monthly plan. This person bears no fault here at all.

You shouldn't have to read the fine print to get a sample, this is simply awful business practice!!

I too requested a sample and am now stuck with a monthly plan that I have been unable to cancel thus far. HONEST means honest, this is in no way honest.

Guest

While they should answer your calls and emails, you also need to make sure that you read terms and conditions. There are faults on both sides.

Great Company, Great Products

I have been ordering vitamins from The Honest Company for several months now. I am very pleased with their high quality products and fast shipping. Yes, most of their "discount" programs are based on a monthly subscription/auto-ship. Read what you're signing up for before you order. Also, I get a 2 vitamin bundle monthly and each month I do the "add-on" of an extra bundle for 25% off. Last month I forgot to add my extra bottle prior to shipment and had to order it separately. When I contacted customer service via e-mail and explained the situation, they issued a credit for the 25% off of the additional item. I felt this was very excellent customer service as it was totally my error in not placing my add-on in time. They are also very good about sending a reminder e-mail well in advance of shipping each month's order/charging my card.

The worst experience ever! Negative 5 star review! The honest company is the lying company. My husband ordered a $5 trial size package. They charged us $120! Now they not only make us pay for shipping on a 26 pound box but their is a $20 restocking fee! And to top it off I don't want to just suck it up because the product actually sucks. Totally feeling robbed and cheated by them.

The Honest Company is not honest! BEWARE OF BAIT AND SWITCH! Do NOT Order their so-called "FREE SAMPLE PKG" as they need your credit card info for a small shipping/handling fee. However, before you know it, you've been enrolled as a monthly subscriber, (I should have read the teeny/tiny print before ordering my "free sample"), and your credit card has been charged $300 for bundles of OVERPRICED baby products you did not knowingly order! You can try to contact them by sitting on hold forever or sending numerous emails that never get answered! VERY FRUSTRATING! I have been trying for the past 2 days to get them to cancel my "subscription." Unfortunately, today I was just shipped and charged $300 for my so-called "3/6/2015 monthly order." It's only Feb. 5th! They like to do the orders a month ahead evidently! Yesterday I saw this order was just in "PENDING" mode. But try as I might to contact the company to cancel the order, my efforts were unsuccessful. Today, of course, the order got shipped and the $300 charge went through on my credit card! The people who run this company should be ashamed of their deceptive practices. The baby products are lovely, however, only people as rich as the Hollywood movie stars that started this company could afford to pay these prices monthly for their luxury baby diapers and products. Baiting the general public into a monthly subscription with the offer of a "free" sample bundle is not an honest way to do business, IMO. Save yourself the trouble and don't get tricked into this like I did! Thumbs DOWN for Honest Company!!!

Automatically enrolled me for monthly supply and gave me *** to cancell

They automatically enrolled without explicitly saying so on the first order, couldn't cancel through online login. Couldn't get hold of customer service, finally they answered the phone and tried to tell me how transparent they are. I had to pay restocking fee to have my order cancelled and they are not even apologetic about it. Wasted my money, time and energy for the mediocre products. Dishonest representation of their automatic enrollmentTerrible customer serviceMediocre products It is like one of those shady companies that enroll you for next batch of products without making you fully aware, very disappointed customer.

It DOES explicitly say so on the first order, and while you're still just looking at the samples too, so that's either a lie or you just don't read what's in front of you.

I agree that it should be easier than it apparently is to cancel, but as far as acting like you had no idea what you were getting into, that's 100% your fault for not taking two minutes to read anything past 'free'. That might be why they weren't 'apologetic'. It wasn't their mistake.

Guest

It's right there on the website, clearly states that you are enrolled in monthly deliveries and how to cancel!!

Guest

If you read their rules about trying products, it specifically says you'll be enrolled for the bundle.

Not very HONEST at all!

Ordered the "free" sample. Scheduled date for X/XX. Was to have had 7 days after getting sample to cancel. Bank is now overdrawn because they charged for the "sample" shipping, (which I agreed to) plus the 1st shipment of diapers and 1st shipment of product, and the sample hasn't even shipped yet. Spoke with Simone. It's all MY fault for changing sample ship date? Huh? She can stop the 3rd shipment, but not the others because they are close to being shipped. She will send an RMA. So now, are the shipments going to get lost too? I'm afraid it will, and I will then be told I received everything. I told Simone I was going to file a complaint and she said I was free to do that, but that they would then say that I was the one that changed the shipment dates.

Didn't even end up placing an order because...

I WAS going to try the free trial of the diapers and wipes...that was until I saw that I could get 7 diapers (and 10 wipes too, yep, 10 whole wipes) for but would have to pay $5.95 for shipping and handling. For 7 diapers and 10 wipes? Seriously? "Free" diapers = $5.95 for 7 diapers. That's some awfully expensive "free" diapers. I WAS going to order a pack of diapers ($5.95 s&h for 44 diapers - that makes much more sense but still pricey these days) and try the free trial bath & body products instead...that was until I saw that the shipping and handling was almost as much as my order because I was being charged $5.95 s&h PER ITEM. Are you kidding me? Lastly, that free trial I WAS going to order? If the DOUBLE $5.95 s&h wasn't enough to make me cancel my whole order...then I saw, literally right before I would have clicked to complete my order, down below that, in SMALL print, about how, if I bought this one time free trial, this company would automatically start charging me for the reoccurring monthly fee for the price of the products I chose. Three strikes and you're out. This new mama will not be ordering anything from this company. But I thought I'd leave my feedback for other mom's who are thinking of giving this company's products a try. - Oh, p.s. - I like how it's greatly advertised that you can get diapers for "less than $20 per week!" - the price? $79.95 per month. Yeah. Don't forget to add on the s&h too! I thought this was the "HONEST" company? - The irony...

Reason of review:
s&h PER item? $5.95 is NOT "free". Why not OPENLY advertise the reoccurring fee with the "free" trial like you openly advertise everything else??

Preferred solution: STOP BEING GREEDY! (Charging shipping and handling PER ITEM?! You might get more customers!) STOP BEING DECEPTIVE (Openly advertise the reoccurring fee!)

What's dishonest about stating that you can get diapers for less than 20 bucks a month? Last time I checked ((79.95+5.95)*12)/52=19.82. Sounds pretty honest to me.

Okay do your math again, you are dividing by 52 so that is $19.82 a week. Derr

The Honest Company - Free Trial Review from Kaneohe, Hawaii

They should be called the dishonest company. They have a free trial but you get automatically charged for a bundle and the other products you try on your free trial a month after and because I live hawaii the shipping is ridiculous! I called them the day after they had charged me n already they had sent the *** without me knowing or without my consent. Isn't that being DISHONEST!!! Now that I had paid for the stuff I never consent to they told me i can get my money back when I return it but i gotta pay the shipping again!!!! $210 they charge $60 was for shipping now I gotta spend a extra $60 to return it...so that means ill only get $90 out of $210 back. Very very dishonest !! Plus the free trial I tried at the time my son was a size 1 hes a size 2 now. So why should I pay for *** my son cant even wear!!!!!

This review is what's dishonest. I signed up for the bundle too, before you did, and the information about being signed up automatically for a subscription when you sign up for the samples is all right there.

I saw it before I picked the samples, I saw it again while I was trying to checkout, I got emails afterward reminding me that I had signed up for a subscription and if I don't want it here's what to do.

It was all plain as day, but some people see the word 'FREE SAMPLES' and they just stop paying attention right there to everything else that's getting put in front of their face.

And your comments about diaper size make no sense. YOU ordered size one. You say yourself they sent them the NEXT DAY and you're pissed because now he wears size two? It's not their fault babies grow.

You know you can change your bundle when you need a new size, right?? Jeez.

And if you've lived in Hawaii for more than two weeks you know everything is more expensive to ship there and ship back from there. If you move to NYC, and the high rent shocks you, that's your fault for not being prepared, not the landlord. Don't live in NYC.

Same with Hawaii if you don't like high shipping charges. I agree it sure stinks, but it's how it is.

So you can tell yourself you got scammed if you feel better but it's 'dishonest' to tell other people how scammed you are.

Guest

They state when you order the free trial that if you do not call and cancel, you will be automatically enrolled for a monthly subscription. It isn't their fault if you didn't read the information they gave you.

This company is far from "honest". After cancelling a subscription via email, as it is very difficult to get through on the phone (they have VERY limited service hours...during business hours), I was mailed another package. I finally got them on the phone and they acknowledged receipt of the email, but told me it had to be cancelled via phone. The hours of service operation is during the business day and is on West Coast time. The products are nothing to get excited about and the business practices very DIShonest. It seems they set this up with fully explaining how difficult it is to drop these "free" samples. I do not recommend getting involved with this company!!!
